ICSO Centre for Community Studies and Oral History, based in the History Department at Nipissing University, the CCOH (formerly the ICSOH) engages in community outreach to promote research and writing on the history of the Near North.
Voyageur Heritage Network The Voyageur Heritage Network is a non-profit corporation made of museums, historical societies, cultural groups and institutions in the Rainbow Country, the Near North, the Algoma Country and the James Bay Frontier tourism travel area. Quints Museum The Quints attracted 3 million visitors to North Bay and area during the peak of the depression. A whole new Quint industry sprang up and provided employment for thousands. The Quints helped millions of people feel happy during the depression and forget the hunger and unemployment for a moment. Visit the Quint Museum to learn more.
Callander Museum The Callander Bay Heritage Museum is located in the original home and practice of Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe. Dr. Dafoe is the famed doctor of the Dionne quintuplets. On display at the museum are a large variety of artifacts from the Township of North Himsworth, including records and relics pertaining to Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe, the Dionne Quints, area logging and shipping, and the Red Cross nurses. The museum is pleased to welcome you to the historic community of Callander, Ontario.
Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence The Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence (CFMAD) is unique, being the only museum of its kind in Canada. Take a journey through time and see the evolution of air defence and the contributions Canadians have made.
Mattawa Museum Nestled on Explorer's Point, the Mattawa Museum, a beautiful red pine structure hewed out of the wood that made the Ottawa Valley prosper, was established in 1984. It is located at the junction of the Ottawa and Mattawa Rivers. This confluence has meant that the site has held a strategic and important position for the people who have traveled this historic waterway.
Sturgeon River House Welcome to the Sturgeon River House Museum. We are located on the site of an original Hudson Bay Company trading post.  The permanent exhibit features displays on the fur trade and fur-bearing animals of our region. The Museum also features temporary displays such as our present display highlighting the francophone pioneers of West Nipissing.
